Of a Fair Fight, Honestly Adjudged
Match Integrity
The Coliseum is a skill-contest. These are the rails that hold it honest.
Server-authoritative combat
Every die-roll, every move-cost, every hit, every drop is computed on the BellusTowne server. The browser only displays what the server has already decided. A modified client cannot give itself a hit, a heal, an item, or a victory.
No random-dominant mechanics
Combat resolves on a 2d6 against a target-number derived from class, kin, terrain, and chosen action. The better-played champion wins the great majority of fair matches. Randomness colors the margin, not the outcome.
Append-only encounter log
Every action in a Coliseum match is written to coliseum_encounter_log as it happens: who acted, where, what dice were rolled, what damage landed. The log is append-only — there is no UPDATE or DELETE policy. A match's history cannot be quietly rewritten.
Officer exclusion (Aegis bind)
The Founder and the Chief Constable are barred, server-side, from receiving any purse distribution. This is not policy alone; it is enforced in the payout function and re-asserted at every settlement. See the Champion's Covenant.
Money split, in order, on gross
Stripe fees → Towne Toll 5% → Founder's Draw 5% → Chief Constable's Share 3% → Prize Pool to the bracket (60 / 25 / 10 / 5). Coliseum entries are facilitated by Strength & Solidarity LLC; the LLC does not act as a bookmaker, does not set odds, and does not offer spectator wagering.
Skill-contest doctrine
Only Citizens entered in a given match may stake coin in that match. There is no spectator betting under any name — no parlays, no prop bets, no "fan stakes." Persons in forbidden jurisdictions cannot enter purse matches. Coliseum entries are not "donations" or "tithes"; they are contest entry fees, period.
Self-exclusion is honored
Any Citizen may declare a self-exclusion at Responsible Play. The server refuses their entry into excluded scopes regardless of which page the entry is attempted from. A 24-hour cooling-off period prevents impulse reversal; permanent exclusions are not reversible.
Reporting concerns
Suspected cheating, collusion, exploit, or unfair adjudication may be reported to the Chief Constable. The encounter log makes review tractable; the Founder's Box (admin view) preserves the full sequence of a match for as long as the law and our retention policy require.
