A Beacon of the Realm

The Lighthouse

Each week a single Citizen is set upon the Lighthouse and seen by the whole realm. The choosing is Loren’s — made without favor, guided by craft, standing, and a bright eye for those who might otherwise go unnoticed.

The Rule of the Beacon

  • One week, one Citizen. The beacon is lit each Monday and burns until the next. It is never shared and never sold.
  • The choosing is Loren’s. Craft first, standing second, and a deliberate eye for the unnoticed. No coin buys this light.
  • What the beacon grants. A place on this page, a line in the Gazette, a card in the Crier’s scroll, and a permanent entry in the log of past beacons — the Chronicle does not forget a light once lit.
  • Who may be raised. Any sworn Citizen in good standing who has set real work before the realm. None may nominate themselves.
  • Once, then rest. A Citizen already raised is set aside from the choosing until every other worthy name has had its turn.

Put a name forward

Seen work in the Towne that deserves the light? Name the Citizen and say plainly why. Three names in a tenday from one hand — no more, so that each carries weight.
