The Chronicle
Chapter IV — The Sand
The tunnel opens onto raked sand and banked, empty stands. Doctore Sabra is waiting, and she does not care yet whether you can fight.
A prototype — not the Towne itself
The Chronicle is a separate game built to teach how BellusTowne works and to show what is coming. Nothing you do here changes anything in BellusTowne — no Standing, no Deeds, no coin, no rank, no record. Your progress lives only in this browser.
The Law of the Sand
Read the Law cut into the lintel above the tunnel mouth (✶), article by article.
—
Where you stand
The Coliseum floor. The Law (✶) is cut above the tunnel, the centre mark (O) lies at the middle of the sand, the armourer's bench west, the ranked boards east.
The keepers
Six keep this house: the Doctore, the Sandkeeper, the Reckoner, the Physician, the Crowdward, and the Keeper of Laurels. Between them they hold the whole of how a contest is kept honest.

The one rule
No purse raises a rung. Patrons dress you; bouts rank you. The crown is held for a year and given back on Bellus Day.
The tunnel at the south (▼) returns you to the Gatehouse.
