The Chronicle
Chapter VI — The Forge Fires
Heat, hammering, and the smell of quenched iron. Here the Towne lends its fires and keeps none of the work — and every piece leaves marked with the hand that made it.
A prototype — not the Towne itself
The Chronicle is a separate game built to teach how BellusTowne works and to show what is coming. Nothing you do here changes anything in BellusTowne — no Standing, no Deeds, no coin, no rank, no record. Your progress lives only in this browser.
The Rule of the Forge
Read the Rule cut into the lintel over the great fire (✶), article by article.
—
Where you stand
The making halls. The Rule (✶) over the lintel, the great fire (O) at the heart, the engraver's bench west, the apprentices' trials east, working hearths throughout.
The makers
The Forge-Master, the Loomwright, the Limner, the Cinewright, the Keeper of Provenance and one apprentice who does not intend to stay one.

The one rule
The fire is lent, never owned. The face is never borrowed without leave. The hand that made it stays on the record, and cannot be sanded off.
The stair south (▼) carries you down to the Market Lane.
