Refund & Cancellation Policy

The Tithe Ladder (loyalty pricing)
BellusTowne operates a published, criteria-based loyalty programme called the Tithe Ladder. Wayfarers (new accounts) pay a premium that reflects higher servicing and fraud-risk costs; Citizens earn discounts that scale with their Rank. The ladder is open to every honest soul on equal terms. Wayfarers may not purchase recurring subscriptions; the Rite of Standing is free and converts a Wayfarer to a Citizen immediately.
Refund treatment depends on standing at the time of purchase:
- Citizens (Rank 2 and above): a goodwill 7-day refund windowapplies to most one-time purchases, in addition to statutory rights.
- Wayfarers (Rank 0–1): refunds are limited to verifiable service failure (non-delivery, technical fault, or Stripe-confirmed billing error). This reflects the higher chargeback and fraud risk associated with new, unverified accounts. Wayfarers may convert to Citizen at any time at no charge and gain Citizen refund treatment for future purchases.
Subscriptions (guild dues, Citizen passes)
You may cancel any recurring subscription at any time from the Treasury (billing portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; the subscription remains active until that date and is not pro-rated. We do not issue refunds for partial periods.
As provided in the Town Charter (Article II, §6 — Of Refundes Upon Banishment, and Article IV — Of Businesse Termes & the Reinstatement User Fee), Guild Dues may be cancelled within seven (7) days of purchase for a full refund, provided no title-bearing benefit has yet been exercised. This 7-day grace is in addition to any statutory consumer right (e.g. EU/UK 14-day distance-contract withdrawal where applicable). It does not apply to disciplinary instruments such as Markes of Notice, which are issued by Constables and are not a purchased good.
One-time passes (Chamber Day, All-Pass)
Day passes are non-refundable once activated. If a pass fails to deliver access due to a technical fault on our end, contact us within 7 days and we will reissue the pass or refund the purchase.
Atelier commissions (Tier II Apprentice, Tier III Master)
Commissioned portraits are bespoke goods. You may cancel and receive a full refund before the Atelier has begun work on your portrait. Once work has begun, the deposit becomes non-refundable; once the portrait has been delivered, no refund is issued.
Disputed charges
If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact billing@strengthandsolidarity.com before initiating a chargeback. We respond within 5 business days and will issue a refund for any verified error.
Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory consumer right you may have under the law of your jurisdiction (e.g., EU/UK 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts, where applicable). Digital content begun with your express consent may be excluded from such withdrawal rights to the extent permitted by law.
